The official London Dynamo + Generative Design hackathon.
Have you ever wanted to extend Dynamo to solve new and interesting problems? Are you interested in Generative Design workflows? Have you always wanted to use Dynamo to create and evaluate more design options? Ever wondered if there are other like-minded coders and hackers interested in wanted to pushing Dynamo to the max and beyond?
Well then you are in luck! For the first time ever, the UK Dynamo User Group in partnership with the AEC Generative Design team (Dynamo + Refinery) at Autodesk are organising a Dynamo & Generative Design hackathon. Our team wants to empower you to generate more design options, create better tools that solve complex solutions, and spend less effort and time doing repetitive tasks.
Come hack new apps, build upon pre-existing generative workflows we have and talk with the experts who built them!
The London Dynamo Hackathon event was made possible with the support and sponsorship from the AEC Generative Design team (Dynamo + Refinery) at Autodesk.

Who should get involved ?
This event is targeted at Dynamo users who have already mastered the basics and are pretty confident that they can use Dynamo to change the world. If you are looking to elevate your skills from Dynamo user to Jedi master, are keen to encourage multidisciplinary collaboration and are able to think fast, big and outside of the box all at the same time, we want to hear from you!
Where is the Hackathon taking place?
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of WeWork, the hackathon will be hosted in a reserved zone inside the WeWork Paddington Office, London. WeWork is an advanced data driven co-working space provider, with great onsite facilities like coffee, beer and ping pong! There will be ample facilities to support your project. The event is fully sponsored, so all you will need to bring is a laptop (with Dynamo installed), a mind full of ideas and some enthusiasm (or at least some coffee…).

What’s in it for me

If that's not enough, we've also lined up some pretty amazing prizes, read more below. |
How will the hack teams work and how do I sign up?
The event will be limited to
Please feel free to submit a proposal as a team, but don't worry if you do not have 3 colleagues available to take part. The UKDynUG committee will work with Autodesk to select participants and help assemble teams with similar ideas & complementary skills, so that you can create truly epic projects. All you need to do for now is fill in the application form at the link below : |
What are we looking for ?
The only rule is that you base your project on Dynamo - this is a Dynamo hackathon after all. Beyond that, you're free to dream up projects in any domain and solving any problem - the bigger the challenge the better. This means you could use the hackathon to
Please don't limit yourselves to the ideas above, they're only meant to illustrate the lack of limits during this hackathon. With a focus on Generative Design The Dynamo team & UK Dynamo User Group committee would especially love to see solutions around

Feel like you need a little skills boost?
Join the Enstoa-sponsored free half-day Dynamo developer training.
Worried that you might not be at a high enough coding level? Don’t worry! We want the event to be as much about learning as it is about creating, so a complementary half-day advanced developer training session will be provided by
The training will be split into multiple streams running in parallel and targeting different experience levels, so everyone is sure to learn something. This will be hosted at TBC, during the afternoon of Thursday 4th April (the day before the Hackathon). Simply check the box in the application form if you would like to receive the additional free training if you are selected to participate in the Hackathon. |
